Atiku Demands Explanation for Tinubu’s Extended Stay in France

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has questioned President Bola Tinubu’s continued stay in France after the three-week annual vacation announced by the Presidency reportedly elapsed. Atiku said Nigerians deserve an explanation for the delayed return, citing the country’s security, economic and cost-of-living challenges. He also asked whether the President formally transmitted a letter to the National Assembly in line with constitutional provisions for transferring presidential powers. He referenced former President Muhammadu Buhari’s previous transfers of authority to then Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and called on the Presidency or National Assembly leaders to clarify the current situation.
