Nigerian Air Force Expects 12 AKSUNGUR Drones and Six More T129 ATAK Helicopters
The Nigerian Air Force is expecting 12 AKSUNGUR armed drones, two CH-4D armed drones and six additional T129 ATAK attack helicopters as part of an expansion of its combat fleet. The new aircraft would complement Nigeria’s existing Wing Loong II and CH-4 drones. The additional T129 helicopters would raise the Air Force’s fleet from six to 12. If delivered alongside the planned AH-1Z Viper helicopters from the United States, Nigeria could operate up to 24 attack helicopters. The acquisitions are expected to strengthen air support for troops across several security operations.
