Ogun PDP Chieftain Denies 2027 Governorship Bid, Alleges Unauthorised Use of Name
Topa Olusegun Peter, a PDP chieftain in Ogun State, says he did not purchase a governorship nomination form or authorise anyone to present him as an aspirant for the 2027 election. Peter alleged that some APC officials had earlier approached him with a political offer, which he said he rejected. He also alleged that he was later promised money, a car and a political appointment after his name appeared in reports as a PDP governorship aspirant. He denied knowing a lawyer said to have written to INEC on his behalf and asked the commission and security agencies to investigate the alleged use of his name. Peter also appealed for protection for himself and his family.
