Uganda Police Probe Fatal Stabbing of Two Children After Reported Family Dispute
Police in Kampala, Uganda, are investigating the deaths of two children and injuries to three others after a reported attack at a home in Bunga, Ggaba, on August 20, 2026. The children’s mother, Dorothy Namayo, 43, is alleged to have stabbed all five children following a domestic dispute with her husband. A 14-year-old died at the scene, while a seven-year-old later died in hospital. The three surviving children are receiving treatment. Neighbours and the family’s housemaid said the couple had experienced repeated disputes in recent months, reportedly linked to the husband taking another wife. However, police have not announced a final motive and say investigations are ongoing. The suspect is receiving treatment under police guard. Detectives are examining witness accounts, physical evidence and post-mortem findings to establish the full circumstances of the case.
