Ogun Police Arrest Father, Son and Three Others in Stolen Phone and Illegal Firearms Bust
Ogun State Police Command arrested a father, his son and three others in a series of intelligence-led operations across the state. Officers recovered a stolen Tecno Android phone valued at ₦180,000 and four firearms, including a locally made pistol and two dane guns. In Afon Division, police took into custody Fatai Adegbola and his 23-year-old son, Waliu, after tracing the stolen phone reported missing on May 22. A search warrant executed at their home uncovered a locally fabricated pistol and a dane gun. Separately, Ilisan Remo patrol officers recovered a locally fabricated pistol with a live cartridge abandoned at the roundabout on May 27. At Ode Remo, a 25-year-old suspected confraternity member was arrested for stealing a modified dane gun from a homeowner while posing as a carpenter’s assistant. All suspects are now with the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta. The Commissioner of Police praised the swift intelligence-driven efforts and reiterated the command’s resolve to curb violent crime, cultism and illegal firearms in Ogun State.
