Operation Hadin Kai says its air component carried out intelligence-led precision strikes on suspected terrorist positions in Borno State between the night of August 21 and early August 22, 2026. The military said surveillance aircraft tracked groups of suspected terrorists in the Aduwa area of Monguno Local Government Area. Two strikes reportedly killed about 16 fighters, while a follow-up strike targeted another group of about 10 allegedly attempting to regroup. In a separate operation near Buratai in Biu Local Government Area, the military said another airstrike killed about 10 suspected terrorists. Operation Hadin Kai said the operations were aimed at disrupting terrorist movements, logistics and command structures across the North-East. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
