Google Opens Free AI and Digital Skills Training to Nigerians, With Offline Access
Google has launched a free learning platform offering Nigerians training in artificial intelligence and other digital skills. Learners can download lessons over Wi-Fi and study offline, making the courses accessible to people with limited internet access or high data costs. The initiative aims to train three million Africans by 2030, with 250,000 learners expected to graduate by the end of 2026. Courses cover AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, digital marketing and small-business development. The platform also includes career certificates, Google Cloud Skills programmes and an AI-powered study companion. It is open to students, job seekers, entrepreneurs and developers, and learners can earn verifiable badges after completing courses.
