Court Denies Adeyemi Bail as Reps Probe 58 Accounts Linked to Alleged Fake Agency

A Federal High Court in Abuja has denied bail and a medical request by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is facing charges including alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation over the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. The court held that he did not establish exceptional circumstances for bail. It ordered the Nigerian Correctional Service medical team to attend to him in custody. A House of Representatives committee said Adeyemi’s BVN was linked to 58 bank accounts and 12 entities. The panel also said the PFIPC was not created by any law or executive order, and is investigating allegations that it was used to solicit funds and award contracts. Adeyemi denies wrongdoing and insists the agency is legitimate. He remains in custody pending trial.
