IPOB: Prince Victor writes Sanwolu; Condemns Eze Ndigbo statement, seek release.
Sat. 01. 2023 | 2 mins. A resident of Lagos State, Prince Victor have written to the governor of the state, Babajide Sanwolu condemning the statement of Eze Ndigbo Ajao Estate as well as seeking his release. In a statement on his Facebook handle, he wrote; "Dear Gov. Babajide Sanwolu. Ndigbo are peace-loving people regardless, please tamper justice with mercy. Mr governor, i wish to state categorically that the igbos are peace-loving people which is traceable to our ancestry, it is on this note that I condemn in it entirety the inconsequential outburst of Eze Ndigbo Ajao Estate, Lagos on his purported invitation of IPOB into the state. Taking into consideration that the Eze Ndigbo doesn't in anyway represent the collective interest and views of the thousands of igbos residing in Lagos, as a peace-loving people we truly are, we distance ourselves from any call for anarchy and maintain that such statement is very wrong. It is a call to anarchy and we are not in support of it, If the security forces are not doing well, we have the responsibility to call them to do more. If we suspect that they have abandoned their roles, we have the responsibility to request more from them. But for him to invite some proscribed groups into the state as a guise for security and defence of Ndigbo is condemnable and a call to anarchy. We are not in support of it and I feel that someone of his caliber should not be making that kind of statement. To this end, we call on your revered office to weigh in and tamper justice with mercy as we call for the unconditional release of the bearer of the statement". Thank you Mr governor. God bless Lagos State.
