Army and Vigilante Group Rescue Mother and Six-Month-Old Baby from Kidnappers in Kogi
Troops from the 12 Brigade, 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, working with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, rescued a mother and her six-month-old child after terrorists abducted five family members in Egbe, Yagba West LGA, Kogi State. The incident occurred late on June 3 when the assailants invaded a home near Solid Rock School in Ijalu. After receiving the distress call, the security team launched a pursuit operation along the kidnappers’ withdrawal route. Under sustained pressure, the terrorists abandoned Mrs. Adekemi Idowu and her baby near the Oro axis before fleeing. The rescued mother and child have been safely returned home. Search operations continue to free the remaining captives and apprehend the perpetrators. The Nigerian Army urges the public to provide timely, credible information to support ongoing security efforts.
