Suspected Trafficker Arrested as Seven Underage Girls Are Rescued in Benue

Police in Benue State have arrested a woman identified as Rita over the alleged trafficking of seven underage girls in Aliade, Gwer East LGA. Four of the girls were reportedly intercepted at the Benue Links motor park in Aliade, while three others were rescued from the suspect’s residence. An activist said the girls were allegedly being kept in the house before being sent in groups to Ghana for sexual exploitation. The suspect is being held at the Aliade Police Division pending transfer of the case to Makurdi for further investigation.
