Obi said the funds will buy five new dental chairs. He lamented that politicians spend lavishly on cars while students lack basic educational tools. "We must invest in measurable areas like education, health, and poverty reduction," he added.

He stressed that governance should focus on people’s needs. Obi recalled his own humble beginnings and urged leaders to address food security, schooling, and healthcare rather than immediately talking about 2027. He reaffirmed his intention to contest in 2027.

The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a new policy requiring all students to be at least 12 years old before entering JSS1. This aligns with Nigeria’s nine-year basic education model of six years of primary and three years of junior secondary schooling.

Under the directive, children begin Nursery One at age three, move to Nursery Two at four, and complete Kindergarten at five. Primary school starts at six and runs for six years. Pupils then transition into JSS1 at around age 12.
