Edo Police Probe Clash Between IRT Officers and Traffic Wardens

The Edo State Police Command has launched an investigation into a viral video showing a confrontation between operatives of the Intelligence Response Team and officials of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency. The video, which circulated on September 9, shows the officers arguing and pulling at one another’s uniforms. An IRT operative was also seen firing a rifle into the air during the incident. Police spokesperson ASP Eno Ikoedem said the Commissioner of Police has met representatives of both agencies and ordered a thorough probe. The officer seen firing the rifle will face a disciplinary review, while anyone found culpable will be sanctioned.
