Hair Care Habits That Could Be Damaging Your Edges and Length

Hair Care Habits That Could Be Damaging Your Edges and Length — 1 of 7
1 / 7

Healthy hair is not only about expensive shampoo, satin bonnets or regular salon visits. Everyday habits such as tight ponytails, constant wig installations, rough detangling and excessive heat can slowly cause breakage, thinning and damage. Avoid styles that pull tightly at the edges, and give your hair and scalp a proper break between braids, wigs and weaves. Do not keep installations in for too long, as build-up and matting can make takedown difficult and lead to unnecessary hair loss. Use heat carefully with a protectant, and remember that oil alone does not moisturise dry hair. Cleanse, condition and detangle gently, then trim weak or split ends regularly. Healthy, well-maintained hair is better than holding on to damaged length.
