Isak Scores Twice as Liverpool Beat Ipswich for First Win of the Season
Alexander Isak scored twice inside the opening nine minutes as Liverpool secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road. Cody Gakpo created both goals, first sending Isak through to finish past goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen in the sixth minute. Three minutes later, Gakpo set him up again with an outside-of-the-boot pass, and the Swedish striker calmly slotted home. Isak had a first-half hat-trick ruled out for offside after finishing Florian Wirtz’s pass. Bradley Barcola also made his Liverpool debut, while Ipswich could not find a way past Alisson despite pressing forward in the second half.
