A Passage Attributed to Servetus Calls for Reform of Christianity
Verses 18–23 of Pivadesh present a view attributed to Servetus that Christianity should be reformed before modern enlightenment exposes what the passage describes as errors in religious teaching. The passage questions miracles and the literal interpretation of Jesus’ death for humanity’s sins. It argues that science should be treated as factual knowledge, while religion should be taught as ideology and allegory. It also states that Servetus faced hostility from religious authorities in Spain and fled after being warned of threats to his life.
