Chinese Mukbang Influencer Dies After Severe Low Potassium Complications

Chinese mukbang influencer Chen Ziyi, known online as Ganfan Yingying, reportedly died at 24 after suffering cardiac arrest linked to dangerously low potassium levels. In a video posted days before her death, she said she had been hospitalised repeatedly with low potassium. She reportedly disclosed that she induced vomiting after filming large eating videos, a practice believed to have worsened her condition. Medical experts warn that frequent vomiting, diarrhoea and laxative use can cause severe potassium loss. Very low potassium can disrupt the heart’s electrical activity and may lead to cardiac arrest.
