Brazilian Murder Suspect Arrested While Allegedly Trying to Flee in Disguise
Police in northeastern Brazil have arrested a 33-year-old man under investigation for multiple killings in the Vale do Mamanguape region. Authorities said he was detained in Mulungu after allegedly attempting to evade arrest while wearing a wig and women’s clothing. He was also carrying a toddler who police said was not related to him. The child was not harmed. Investigators have linked the suspect to at least 16 killings over about three months. Police said he claimed during questioning to have killed about 80 people since his teenage years, but that figure has not been officially confirmed. A judge ordered that he remain in custody while investigations continue.
