Indonesian authorities have arrested a 39-year-old Malaysian pilot after allegedly finding 26kg of ecstasy and 4g of methamphetamine in his suitcase at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. The pilot arrived from Kuala Lumpur on a Malaysia Airlines flight and was initially directed to the crew fast-track lane. Customs officers reportedly selected him for further checks after a risk assessment, before X-ray and physical searches uncovered an estimated 70,114 ecstasy pills. Officers also seized a bottle of urine, which investigators believe may have been intended to influence a drug test. The suspect was handed to Indonesia's national police for further investigation into the alleged trafficking network. During questioning, he allegedly said he was promised 50,000 Malaysian ringgit to deliver the drugs. Malaysia Airlines says it is conducting an internal review and does not tolerate misconduct.
