Old Video Shows Kumuyi Explaining Why Deeper Life Discouraged Television Viewing

An old video of Pastor William Kumuyi has resurfaced after a ₦1 million challenge called for proof that he once discouraged Deeper Life members from watching television. In the clip, Kumuyi says the ministry discouraged television viewing in its early years because much of its content could pollute the mind and lead Christians away from holy living. He said similar concerns were shared by other Christians at the time. Kumuyi added that the issue now goes beyond television, as phones, tablets and other internet-enabled devices provide access to far more content. He warned Christians to avoid pornography and any material that encourages immoral thoughts or behaviour.
