Broadcaster Urges Victims of Domestic Abuse to Speak Out and Leave Safely
Cameroonian broadcaster and life coach Leonard Bruce, known as Mr Behyia, has urged women facing domestic abuse to speak out, report their abusers and seek safety. He warned that abuse can become a repeated cycle and said perpetrators may appear respectable in public while being violent at home. He encouraged victims not to remain silent in the hope that an abusive partner will change. He also called on parents to teach their daughters that it is acceptable to be single or return home when a relationship becomes unsafe. He urged men to treat women with respect and reject violence in relationships.
