Woman Withdraws Jay-Z Rape Allegation, Says She Never Met Him

A woman identified as Jane Doe has filed a sworn declaration saying her allegations against Jay-Z were false and that she had never met or spoken to him. She apologised to the rapper and his family, saying the accusations caused harm that could not be fully undone. The declaration was filed in connection with Jay-Z's malicious-prosecution case against lawyer Tony Buzbee and his law firm. The woman had previously included Jay-Z in a lawsuit alleging that she was sexually assaulted at a celebrity party when she was 13. Her new lawyer said she may have been a victim of sexual assault but was mistaken in identifying Jay-Z. Buzbee said the declaration was new information to him and maintained that several lawyers had heard the same account from the woman before she met him. Jay-Z's New York case against Buzbee's firm is still ongoing after a separate California extortion case was dismissed.
