Manchester City Open Talks With Liverpool Over Cody Gakpo Transfer

Manchester City have opened discussions with Liverpool over a possible move for Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo, according to reports. Gakpo is said to be attracting interest from both City and Tottenham Hotspur, with City reportedly his preferred destination if he leaves Liverpool before the transfer deadline. Liverpool have recently agreed a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. However, the club may want to bring in another attacking player before approving Gakpo’s departure. Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr are among the forwards linked with the Reds. Gakpo joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and has scored 33 Premier League goals in 91 appearances.
