A man reportedly collapsed and died in Minna, Niger State, shortly after his daughter, Maryam Zubairu, was found following a brief disappearance. Maryam, a student at the School of Health Technology in Minna, was declared missing after leaving her workplace at General Hospital, New Extension, at about 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Her phone was unreachable, causing concern among her family. Vigilante members later found her and handed her over to the school authorities. Her father reportedly collapsed after seeing her again. His funeral prayer was held on August 16 in Anguwan Tsohin Kwata, Minna. The circumstances of Maryam's disappearance remain unclear.
