What Do You Wish? A Call to Approach God Boldly

Today’s devotional reflects on Achsah’s bold request to her father, Caleb, in Judges 1:14. Before speaking, she dismounted from her donkey, drew near and approached him with purpose. Her posture teaches us to come to God with humility, focus and confidence. Caleb asked her, “What do you wish?” Though he was human and limited, he welcomed her request. In the same way, God invites us to approach Him boldly through prayer. He is not offended by sincere and specific requests. Jesus asked blind Bartimaeus, as well as James and John, “What do you want Me to do for you?” Do not let fear or hesitation keep you distant. Draw near to God today and ask in faith. Prayer: Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your presence. Help me to come boldly in prayer and trust Your limitless power and generosity, in Jesus’ name.
