South African Media Host Questions Tinubu’s London Working Vacation

South African media personality Sol Phenduka reacted to footage of President Bola Tinubu’s departure from Abuja for a three-week annual leave. The video showed a red-carpet send-off, military salutes and the presidential motorcade arriving at a private jet. Tinubu reportedly left for London on 30 August 2026 for the first leg of what was described as a working vacation. Phenduka questioned why the President could not take his leave within Nigeria, noting that South African leaders often vacation locally. He also asked how often European leaders travel to Africa for holidays or working breaks.
