Ogun Urges Civil Servants to Prioritise Health and Work-Life Balance

The Ogun State Government has urged civil servants to prioritise their physical, mental and social well-being to improve productivity and public service delivery. At a health and wellness lecture in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Head of Operations at the Ogun State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System, Dr Festus Adetonwa, said public servants face pressures from deadlines, staff deployment, limited resources and public expectations. He warned that unmanaged stress and poor work-life balance can contribute to hypertension, diabetes, obesity, insomnia, chronic pain and other health conditions. Workers were encouraged to get regular medical check-ups, sleep adequately, exercise, eat healthily and take movement breaks during office hours.
