Understanding the Ministry of the Holy Spirit in a Believer’s Life
The Holy Spirit continues the ministry of Christ in the life of every believer. Through the Spirit, believers receive guidance, comfort and a deeper understanding of God’s promises. Scripture describes the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of revelation, faith, obedience and love. He helps believers understand God’s Word, trust what God reveals and walk in obedience. The Holy Spirit also gives diverse gifts for the benefit of the church. As believers seek God, they can rely on the Spirit for wisdom, strength, assurance of adoption and guidance into truth. Key passages for reflection include John 14:16–26, John 16:13–14, 1 Corinthians 12:4–7, Romans 8:15 and Acts 2:38.
