Army Rescues 31 Kidnap Victims, Kills Suspected Kingpin in Katsina and Kebbi Operations
Nigerian Army troops have rescued 31 people abducted by terrorists during separate operations in Katsina and Kebbi states under Operation FANSAN YAMMA. In Katsina, troops rescued 10 victims, including an infant, after pursuing attackers who abducted residents of Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna in Funtua LGA. In Kebbi, soldiers rescued 21 victims following a gun battle with terrorists near Fafala and Dandikwa in Kangiwa LGA. Troops also killed two suspected terrorists during an operation targeting planned attacks in Matazu and Kankara LGAs of Katsina. The military identified one of those killed as suspected kingpin Abbah Alhassan. Two other suspects were arrested in Dan Musa LGA as investigations continue.
