Oyo Hosts NPFL AGM as Stakeholders Set Agenda for 2025/2026 Season
Oyo State hosted the Nigeria Premier Football League Annual General Meeting in Ibadan, bringing together club owners, league officials, referees’ representatives and other stakeholders ahead of the 2025/2026 season. Representing Governor Seyi Makinde, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasilat Adegoke, said football can promote youth empowerment, national unity, jobs and economic growth. She said the state would continue investing in sports infrastructure and grassroots development. The meeting is expected to address league sponsorship, broadcast rights, club licensing, officiating standards and player welfare. Delegates also highlighted upgrades at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Adamasingba as part of Oyo State’s support for football.
