Arkansas Judge Dismisses Murder Charge Against Father Who Killed Daughter’s Alleged Rapist

Fosler faced dozens of sexual offense charges involving Spencer’s then-13-year-old daughter. The case was dismissed after key dashcam evidence went missing while in law enforcement custody. Spencer, now the GOP nominee for sheriff in Lonoke County, maintained he acted to protect his child. Prosecutors argued he could have called police instead of pursuing Fosler, but the court found the handling of the dashcam so flawed that dismissal was warranted. Spencer says he will refocus on his campaign and on efforts to combat sex crimes against children.
