OSPAC Commander and Three Women Shot Dead by Gunmen in Omoku, Rivers State
Residents of Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, Rivers State, are in shock after gunmen killed four people on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Among the victims was OSPAC Omoku Unit Commander Comr. Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, known as Boski. Three women also lost their lives in the attack, and two others sustained serious injuries. They are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. Details of the assault remain unclear as security agencies have not yet issued an official statement. A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said Omoku’s usually busy streets fell silent after the shooting. Many businesses closed early and residents remained indoors, fearing further violence in the community.
