Abia Warriors Coach Blames Defensive Errors for Winless NPFL Start
Abia Warriors assistant coach Bethel Orji says avoidable defensive mistakes have hurt the club’s start to the Nigeria Premier Football League season. The Umuahia side recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Ikorodu City in their Matchday 3 fixture at Enyimba Stadium, Aba. They remain without a win after taking two points from their first three matches. Abia Warriors have conceded six goals and scored twice this season. Orji praised the players’ fightback but said the team must tighten its defending and improve its finishing ahead of away matches against Sporting Lagos and Kano Pillars.
