Troops Seize Three Canoes Allegedly Meant for Terrorists in Zamfara
Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, intercepted three disassembled canoes allegedly procured for terrorist fighters operating in Zamfara State. The canoes were reportedly being moved from Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State after intelligence suggested they would help the fighters cross riverine areas and reach vulnerable communities. Troops of Sector 2 intercepted the items during a covert operation on August 23. The people transporting them fled on seeing the soldiers, leaving the canoes behind. Security forces said efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend those linked to the movement.
