Plane Collides With Fire Engine at LaGuardia, Two Dead
Two people died after a Jazz Aviation flight, operating for Air Canada, struck a Port Authority fire truck on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport late on March 22. The aircraft had 72 passengers and four crew members on board. It was arriving from Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport when the collision occurred. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation. Port Authority police and executives remain on site while the runway is closed. Bystander videos shared on social media show extensive damage to the front of the jet.
