Rusedski Admits He Was Wrong as Alcaraz Shines at US Open

Former British No. 1 Greg Rusedski has withdrawn his doubts about Carlos Alcaraz’s fitness and form at the US Open. Rusedski had questioned whether Alcaraz could handle best-of-five-set matches after a 139-day absence with a right wrist injury. But victories over Roman Safiullin and Jaime Faria have changed his view. He said Alcaraz’s comeback has “defied logic”, adding that the Spaniard is growing in confidence and showing encouraging signs that his wrist is holding up well. Rusedski also believes Alcaraz has benefited from a favourable draw so far.
