Mohamed Salah Ordered to Appear in Egyptian Court Over Former Lawyer’s Fee Claim
Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is expected to appear before the New Cairo Court over a lawsuit filed by his former lawyer, Amr Faragallah. Faragallah claims Salah owes him payment for legal and administrative services allegedly provided under a power of attorney issued in 2012. The dispute reportedly dates back to 2015. The court has fixed an initial hearing and asked Salah to appear in person to take an oath denying the claim if he disputes it. Failure to appear or take the oath without a valid reason could have consequences under Egyptian law. The case will proceed as the court considers the former lawyer’s claim and Salah’s response.
