2,000 Adamawa Keke Riders to Receive Up to 50% Fuel Subsidy
P-GAT Industries says 2,000 fuel-powered tricycle riders in Adamawa will receive up to a 50% fuel subsidy under its Affordable Transport Solution (ATRaS) programme. The first phase will cover Yola, Numan and Mubi. Riders will also be offered medical support, maintenance assistance, welfare benefits, and education and career-development opportunities. The company says the initiative is intended to cut operators’ fuel and repair costs, improve earnings and help make transport fares more affordable for commuters. It plans to recruit up to 500 agents to register riders and customers, distribute products and support community mobilisation. Existing fuel-powered tricycles are eligible, with a gradual transition to electric mobility planned as the programme expands across the North-East and beyond.
