Shettima Reaffirms Nigeria’s Support for WTO and Global Trade Cooperation
Vice President Kashim Shettima says Nigeria remains committed to the World Trade Organisation and a multilateral trading system built on cooperation. Speaking during a meeting with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on the sidelines of the BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, Shettima said no country can achieve lasting prosperity by isolating itself from the global community. He said nations are economically interconnected and that Nigeria will continue to support efforts to strengthen international trade, cooperation and multilateralism.
