Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway Work Begins in Oyo, Progresses in Sokoto
Land preparation has started on the Oyo section of the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, with residents of Itasa and Iwerele in Iwajowa Local Government Area expressing excitement about the project reaching their communities. Construction is also ongoing in the Gidan Madi axis of Tangaza Local Government Area, Sokoto State, covering chainages 78 to 84. Site work includes earthworks, road formation, grading and compaction. The proposed 1,068km federal highway is expected to link Sokoto to Lagos through six states, improving transport connections, trade and economic activity along the route.
