Lionel Richie Set to Return to American Idol Following Health Scare
Lionel Richie is expected to return to the American Idol judging panel after recent health concerns interrupted some of his performances. Fellow judge Luke Bryan confirmed that Richie will join him, Carrie Underwood and host Ryan Seacrest for the show’s next season. Auditions are already underway. The 77-year-old singer was reportedly hospitalised after heart-related issues and underwent a successful procedure for atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm. His representative said he is recovering and plans to return to the stage after taking time off. Richie is also expected to resume his Las Vegas residency in October.
