Wike: Fubara's Mistake Was Trying to Build His Own Political Structure

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara made a political mistake by trying to build an independent structure shortly after taking office. Speaking during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike said Fubara should have consolidated the political structure that supported his emergence as governor. He argued that the attempt to create a separate base became evident within Fubara's first 100 days in office. The disagreement between both men sparked a prolonged political crisis in Rivers State, including impeachment moves by lawmakers loyal to Wike. Wike said political leaders must distinguish genuine advice from counsel that could damage their administration.
