Gunmen Murder Magaji Timshat, Traditional Ruler of Timshat in Plateau State

Unknown assailants shot and killed the traditional ruler of Timshat in Langtang South LGA, Plateau State, on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Magaji Timshat, Godwin Vonga, was attacked along the Timshat-Mabudi road as he returned home after dropping his children at school. Neighbours say the motive remains unclear. Local residents describe Vonga as a respected leader whose death has plunged the community into mourning. The Langtang South chairman condemned the “barbaric” act and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. He appealed for information from residents and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.
