Lagos Food Logistics Hub Reaches 70% Completion, First Phase Due in December
Lagos State says its 500-hectare Central Food Logistics Hub in Epe is 70% complete, with the first phase expected to be commissioned before the end of December 2026. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the project will include cold-chain and dry-chain storage, a trailer park for up to 1,500 vehicles, and facilities for food processing businesses. It is designed to improve the preservation, movement and distribution of farm produce entering Lagos. The state also plans a network of middle-level markets to support the hub, with facilities planned or underway in locations including Ajao, Agege, Mushin, Festac and Ikorodu. The project is expected to link producers from several states with processors and markets in Lagos. Officials say the initiative could help reduce post-harvest losses, but its effect on food prices will depend on operations, transport costs and access for farmers and traders.
