Nigeria vs Madagascar: Nwabali Favoured as Lookman Leads Super Eagles’ Expected XI

Nigeria are expected to begin their Pamoja AFCON 2027 campaign against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. Coach Eric Chelle is likely to rely on a familiar core after the Super Eagles’ disappointing World Cup qualifying run. Stanley Nwabali is favoured to start in goal ahead of Maduka Okoye. Okoye joined camp late after being granted permission by Chelle to attend to club-related commitments, but the coach says he must now manage the situation. Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey and Bruno Onyeamachi are expected in defence. Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka and Alex Iwobi could make up the midfield, while Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon and Akor Adams are tipped to lead the attack in Victor Osimhen’s absence.
