Soludo Calls on Southeast to ‘Back Tinubu’ in 2027 Elections
Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, has asked Igbo voters in the south-east to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election. He made the appeal during his second-term inauguration at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. Soludo urged the region not to “waste” its votes on alternative candidates. He said an Igbo presidency is still in the offing but the timing isn’t right. He praised Tinubu as cerebral, courageous and patriotic, and credited his administration with positive changes in the south-east. Vice-President Kashim Shettima, along with former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, attended the ceremony. Shettima commended Soludo’s integrity and reiterated federal support for Anambra’s development.
