Two Months After Wedding: Kano Man Arraigned for Alleged Murder and Arson

The Kano State Government has charged Ali Sulaiman Adam with culpable homicide and arson over the alleged killing of his wife, Maryam Nababa Badamasi. Authorities say he set their room ablaze shortly after the incident, which occurred just two months into their marriage. At High Court No. 15, Adam pleaded not guilty when the two-count charge was read to him. The prosecution requested an adjournment to call witnesses in support of the case. Defence counsel urged the court to uphold bail previously granted by the Gezawa Division. The judge declined the immediate request but allowed a fresh bail application and adjourned proceedings until July 27.
