"The impostors even went far in using the name of our party's legal adviser in Ganduje ward to announce the purported suspension of our National chairman without the prior consent of the said legal adviser even though a legal adviser lack the powers to suspend officers of the party hence such powers is vested on the ward chairman.

"Impersonation is a criminal offence punishable by law. We call on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of State Security Service to immediately arrest the impostors and prosecute them to serve as deterrent to others willing to orchestrate such devilish act. 

"If these impostors are not arrested and prosecuted immediately, in a short while, some members of the PDP or Labour Party may constitute themselves and suspend Mr. President from the APC."

‘’The Office commends the delegates who are yet to receive the stipends for their patience and assures them that in no time the issues will be resolved.

“I didn’t deface the Naira, I help a lot of people, after God na government, please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money, no more spraying of money”, he said.

Bobrisky was handed a 6-month jail term on Friday.

The judge ruled that the jail-term commenced from March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.

The top twelve states with the highest number of applications in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have emerged.

Three south-west states - Oyo, Ogun and Osun - top the list, while Imo and Delta states closely follow them.

On the other hand, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara and the FCT are the states with the lowest applications in the 2024 UTME emerged as states with the highest number of applicants for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). 

Oyo, Ogun and Osun states top the list of 12 states with the highest applications for the 2024 UTME. Oyo, Ogun and Osun have highest 2024 UTME applications.

According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) website, the 2024 UTME exams will commence on Friday, April 19 and end on Friday, April 29. The examination body explained that the examination venue will be at any centre in the candidate's chosen examination town centre.

Ooni Unveils Tingo Drinks, Says Nigeria Can Contest For Global Markets

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has unveiled two new carbonated drinks. The monarch unveiled Tingo Cola and Tingo Electric, produced by Tingo Foods, owned by Tinko B.V. Plc. Tinko B.V. Plc, an Ojaja Pan Africa Limited subsidiary, produces the new drinks, Tingo Cola and Tingo Electric. 

The Ooni said the new drinks have been certified for consumption and distribution by the appropriate regulatory bodies.

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has unveiled Tingo drinks, a new addition to the carbonated drinks industry in Nigeria. At the unveiling, the first-class royal father disclosed that Nigeria could compete favourably in the global soft drinks industry with quality products. 

The Ooni disclosed that he has always dreamed of owning a soft drink brand that would produce quality products to position Nigeria in the global soft drinks market. He said: “The license under which we produce Tingo Cola, Tingo Electra, Tingo Twist (Cucumber and Cranberry), and Tingo Booze Fruit Mix proves we are committed to quality and standards. “One of our main focuses is our sheer determination to elevate homegrown brands instead of demarketing them. That’s why we have put resources together to create these exceptional drinks and produce what we consume to reduce importation and save the Naira.” Ooni vows to create five million jobs. 

The Ooni disclosed that his entrance into commercial activities as a monarch is not profit-oriented but serves as a pathfinder to show people how to add value to products for international standards via seamless product distribution, stating that his business ventures came from his passion for humanity. He said he has embarked on business to create five million direct and indirect jobs for the Nigerian youths via retailing, recycling, and other forms of distribution driven by technology.

The monarch stated that Tingo Foods products have been certified by appropriate regulatory authorities, such as NAFDAC, and are fit for consumption. “The Tingo Cola, for instance, is laced with lemon flavour and other natural ingredients such as cucumber, cranberry, and others that showcase the brand's originality and uniqueness.

In the video, as the chant of the first-class traditional ruler in the southwest was praised, the Ooni was bustling, sharing a bundle of cash with the conventional rulers seated at the festivals. 

Aje, the god of wealth in Yoruba mythology, was always celebrated yearly by the people of Ife and the Yoruba.

Having opened at N1,130 to the dollar on Monday morning, the value of the naira gained strength midday as traders anticipate another round of dollar sales to Bureau de Change (BDC) operators this week.

By noon on Monday, the naira was selling at N1,000 to the dollar at the parallel market. Last week Monday, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had offered $15.88 million to BDC operators at N1,101 to the dollar, pushing up the value of the naira on the streets.

The CBN sells dollars to the BDCs at the lower band of rate quoted on the Nigeria Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM). Last week Friday the value of the naira was between N1,265 and N1,100 to the dollar.

In anticipation of another liquidity push out by the apex bank, the value of the naira which opened trading activities on the parallel market at N1,130 to the dollar had firmed up to N1,000 by midday.

This corroborates with the projection of US Bank Goldman Sachs which at the weekend projected that the naira will be trading at N1,000. Goldman Sachs Group Inc, had projected that the naira will be among the best performing currencies in the world.

Having predicted in February that the naira would strengthen to N1,200 per dollar this year, Goldman economists, say they see it potentially advancing beyond that level after a raft of measures by the central bank.

Those included 600 basis points of cumulative interest-rate increases at policy meetings in February and March, as well as other steps to ease the local scarcity of dollars that fanned volatility and forced companies to the parallel market.

Goldman’s Andrew Matheny told Bloomberg Newswire in an interview that “this probably can run further; we would see an extension of the move to 1,000 and maybe even sub-1,000, six weeks have gone by and they’re continuing to hold the line, so that’s encouraging.”

The group maintains its 12-month forecast for the naira at 1,200 per dollar, owing to uncertainty around the ability of the authorities to maintain the reform tempo, though it now sees risks to that upbeat projection.

What is Bitcoin Halving?

Bitcoin has a total supply of 21 million. The underlying code ensures that only 21 million bitcoins will ever exist. Bitcoin’s finite supply is a strong economic statement and supports its value system.

Bitcoin is distributed through mining. The 21 million bitcoins in existence are scheduled to be mined through the year 2140. That is, the last bitcoin is expected to be mined in the year 2140. At the current rate of emission, the unmined bitcoin will be exhausted before this speculated time. Almost 90% of bitcoin’s total supply has been mined. About 900 bitcoins are mined per day, currently.

To sustain the emission and increase scarcity, the number of bitcoin emitted per block is regularly reduced. This process of reducing the bitcoin emission per block is known as Bitcoin Halving.

After a predetermined block height (a number that is used to indicate a particular block), the amount of bitcoin emitted per block is reduced to half of the previous number. For bitcoin new halving occurs after an interval of 210,000 blocks or 4 years.

The most recent (2020) halving reduced bitcoin emission from 12.5 bitcoin per block to 6.25 bitcoin per block. This means that instead of 12.5 bitcoins, miners will now be rewarded with 6.25 bitcoins per block mined.

Bitcoin Halving: Less Than 4 Days To Go....
