Delap and Jackson Train Separately as Chelsea Trim Oversized Squad
Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson are among Chelsea players training separately from Xabi Alonso’s main squad as the club prepares for the new season. Unlike Chelsea’s previous “bomb squad” setup, both groups reportedly train at the same time, use the same pitches and retain access to first-team facilities. The second group can include up to 12 players. Chelsea have more than 40 first-team players listed, and several members of the second group could leave before the transfer window closes. Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi, Delap and Jackson are among those facing uncertain futures. Chelsea are expected to carry three senior strikers, with João Pedro and Danny Welbeck in the attacking plans alongside Emmanuel Emegha, who has trained with the main group.
