Are We Seeing Reality or Letting Ego Fill in the Gaps?
I reflect on how quickly we can mistake our assumptions for reality. A child who fails to greet an elder may be grieving, distracted or facing a private struggle, yet we may immediately label the child disrespectful. I also examine the everyday thoughts driven by pride, vanity and arrogance. We may dismiss someone after rejection, assume a gift comes with hidden demands, or put others down in our minds to feel better about ourselves. For me, clearing the mind is not about stopping thought. It is about pausing, observing facts with compassion, and letting go of ego-driven judgments. Stillness can create room for wiser, kinder responses.
